Feelings and relationships
Dialogue – A misunderstanding:
– Ayşe didn’t come to my birthday party. She must have been angry with me.
– Not necessarily. She might have forgotten, or she could have been ill.
– I should have called her. I shouldn’t have shouted at her last week.
– You can still apologise. Say: “I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Feelings vocabulary: upset, disappointed, jealous, grateful, embarrassed, heartbroken, relieved, ashamed, thoughtful
Apologising: I’m terribly sorry for… · It was my fault. · I didn’t mean to… · Please forgive me.
